Around the rabbit hole….

The membership drive for the UARC has been successful and we have welcomed a number of new folks to the UARC portion of the rabbit world.
The PA Convention is just around the corner for all the show folks. Personally, I have never been but it’s one of the biggest shows going yearly on the East Coast. UARC will be hosting a specialty show there on Saturday new to the club’s table will be a new roving offered by the club for sale I hope handspinners take advantage of this blend put togther by Julie George, UARC sec. and go to gal for club paperwork.
Also for club members interested in adding to their rosters for spring shows look for more information for a triple in May in Mineral Wells WV. UARC is adding a specialty to one of the hosting clubs, Blennerhassett Rabbit Club has been gracious enough to let us tag along with an angora specialty. I will post more information as plans become more final nearer to the date. We will have a raffle basket and baked goods for sale at our table.
Winter this year has been colder longer the angoras are holding steady with coat growth. Flesh condition is dropping some due to Purina Fiber3 feed, I did not notice it so much in the summer and fall. However the rabbits were eating from the garden and orchard daily so I am retooling the daily feed regime and adding some fat to their diets. The body fat on some meat rabbits we culled to the table a couple of weeks ago told the tale very well on the lack of body fat. They have been switched to another feed already.
I hope everyone is weathering winter well and looking forward to spring shows, full nest boxes and the color palette of spring.
